Chiropractic
Spinal adjustments are the hallmark of treatment in most chiropractic offices. After your evaluation and consultation (and x-rays oftentimes), the doctor will check your alignment and perform specific adjustments to your spine. The purpose of this treatment is to improve alignment, balance, and joint mobility so you can feel your best.
Chiropractic adjustments are most well known in the spine, however our doctors also commonly may adjust your shoulder or hip if there are misalignments or stiffness found in those regions. Chiropractic can treat a broad range of conditions, such as:
- Neck and back pain
- Sciatica
- Shoulder and arm pain
- Hip and leg pain
- Osteoarthritis
- Neuropathy
- Headaches
- Poor posture
- And more!
There is often a “pop” sound that occurs with adjustments, that is simply the sound of gas being released within our joints with certain motions and is totally normal to hear and feel during an adjustment, similar to the sound you hear when your fingers pop! Adjustments typically feel great, with greater flexibility and less pain right after. Be sure to ask the doctor if you have any other questions about the adjustment beforehand. If you don’t like the idea of your joints popping during treatment, that is totally fine, there are other ways to stretch and adjust your spine/joints.
